Excursion Form: Wangal Park Excursion Form: Wangal Park Dear Families, At Figtree Early Learning Centre, we believe that excursions provide valuable learning experiences for children. These outings support children’s learning and development by enhancing their understanding of the community and the world around them while building real-world skills they can use throughout life. Excursions provide hands-on learning opportunities that support children’s independence and problem-solving abilities as they learn to: Follow group instructions Navigate different environments safely Practise social skills such as communication, patience, and respect for others Excursion Details Excursion: Wangal Park Purpose: For children to engage in various gross motor activities including risky play and exploration, and to build resilience and develop a sense of personal safety and wellbeing outside of Figtree. Destination: Wangal Park 35 Royce Avenue, Croydon NSW 2132 Date and Time: Ongoing excursions conducted when weather permits. Risk Assessment This excursion has an accompanying risk assessment completed by Figtree staff and management and has been assessed as Moderate Risk due to: High staff-to-child ratios The nature of the park environment Safety precautions implemented Minimal interaction with public roads Safety and Supervision Children will be closely supervised at all times. The required educator-to-child ratio will always be maintained. All educators hold current First Aid and CPR qualifications. A suitably stocked first aid kit, including an asthma reliever and EpiPen, will always be available.
