Service Philosophy

Figtree Early Learning Centre acknowledges that the first 5 years of a child’s life are fundamental
to their social, emotional, cognitive, physical, communicative and creative development. We also
believe positive early experiences lay a solid foundation for each child’s holistic development and
therefore we adopt the following principles to guide our program, environment and relationships.

Underlying these principles and practices in addition to the Early Years Learning Framework
(EYLF) and National Quality Framework (NQF) is the understanding of the need to promote
children’s independence. Their ability to work cooperatively with peers and adults in small or
large group experiences while respecting diverse cultures, abilities and identities is also highly
valued within the service.
